Welcome to Olney Street Baptist Church
The church mission statement “to promote Spiritual Growth, Evangelism and Stewardship through Bible Study, Prayer and the development of ministries throughout the Body of Christ and the community” is the foundation of Olney Street Baptist Church and clearly identifies our purpose and focus, in addition to reflecting our beliefs and vision. Matthew 28:18-20. I take serious my personal commitment “Equipping the Saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ” Ephesians 4:12. Christian Education, fellowship, discipleship and the development of our various ministries are my priorities for service, with special emphasis on youth education, leadership development and the support of our sick and shut-in members.
Olney Street Baptist Church is becoming a church for the 21st century, making changes where needed while maintaining our traditions and beliefs. I pray that we continue to be faithful and find strength in each other as we carry on His work in our corner of His vineyard. To God be the Glory!
Reverend Dr. Johnny M. Wilson, Jr,. Senior Pastor & First Lady Levonne Wilson
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Welcome to Olney Street.
It is my great pleasure to serve God as pastor of the Olney Street Baptist Church. The First Lady and I are thankful to be part of this great church and look forward to many years of working, growing and fellowshipping with you in service to our Lord. Olney Street Baptist Church is not only alive and well in 2014, but thriving as its members continue to serve God and the community after more than 112 years. We are a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching and Bible-preaching church, with a rich history of service to the community. Through our affiliation with the American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island, the American Baptist Churches USA, and like-minded churches in our state, we strive to share the good news of Jesus Christ beyond the walls of our church and to carry out the work of our Father wherever our brothers and sisters are in need.
